Cooking Classes- Thaikhun & Yo Sushi

Towards the end of last year I did two cooking classes. Both were gifts I got for two different friends (we love food, what can I say) and both were such a great experience.

Thaikhun Cooking Class

Thaikhun is a Thai restaurant that also runs cooking classes and pretty damn good ones at that. Both me and my friend Pippa loved it. We got to make Fishcakes and then a Beef Panang. Both of these dishes are something we would definitely make in our own time. They gave us the recipes to take home and recommended some key ingredients to buy, especially if we didn't want to make the curry paste from scratch.

The class was really easy to follow, the chef would show us first and then we would go back to our station and try to repeat what she did. The chef and some other members of staff would then walk round and help you. All ingredients and drinks were included in the price. It was £60 for two people which I think is such a good deal. Yo Sushi Cooking Class

I did not realise that Yo Sushi ran sushi making classes until my sister had been to one. As soon as I knew, I knew this would be a perfect gift for my friend Louise as she introduced me to sushi many moons ago. This class was easy to follow and we made so much it was like sushi heaven. We got taught the sushi rolling methods, which is not as easy as you first think. We also got taught how to make the more individual sushi pieces.

With the Yo Sushi class we also got to take away a sushi making guide, rolling mat, along with the ridiculous amount of sushi we made. I don't think I have ever eaten so mush sushi in my life. For more information on their sushi making classes check out their website here. We went to the Yo Sushi in St Pauls for this class and what a beautiful location it was.

Both of these experiences were such a good idea for a birthday gift. We are all getting to that age where there isn't really anything we want but don't get to spend as much time together as we would like. So these classes really are a great excuse to have lots of girly chat and stuff your face.

Check out my video diary to see more of what was involved and if you like it don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel. This is my last 2016 video and I am going for a new format in 2017 first one going live on Sunday, so make sure you check it out.

  1. This looks amazing, I'm literally drooling! I love Thai food (from restaurants) but I've never tried cooking Thai food myself - might put a class like this on my birthday list!
